NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growing capabilities in space exploration and the importance of international cooperation in space technology during a virtual address to an international space summit in Paris on Thursday.
The address comes at a time when India is expanding its space programme through a combination of government missions, scientific research and increasing participation from private industry.
Modi highlighted India’s progress in space technology and the country’s expanding contribution to global space activities. He also emphasised the importance of cooperation between countries in using space technology for wider human and development needs.

International partnerships are also becoming an important part of India’s space strategy, with cooperation covering satellite technology, scientific research, Earth observation and other areas.
The Prime Minister’s address underlined India’s intention to contribute to international efforts in space while continuing to develop indigenous capabilities.
India’s growing presence in the global space sector comes as countries increasingly look at space technology for communication, climate monitoring, disaster management, navigation and scientific research.
